On The Hunt For Spontaneous Treasure
When I was 6, my cousin and I spotted a hundred dollar bill in my front yard behind a bush. Then we found another, then another – and yet another. To this day, we suspect someone dropped a sleeve of money driving home from a nearby bank. Oh, what a day of fantastic surprise and glee! We were very rich in a lot of ways that afternoon. I guess you can say I’ve been on the hunt for spontaneous treasure ever since.
I’m a journalist and a mom.
I’ve worked for many years as a reporter, TV producer, writer and creative director. I’ve written for Family Circle, Wedding Pages, Working Mother, American Baby, Chicago Parent and The Chicago Tribune. I worked at 3 of Chicago’s finest TV stations – ABC 7, NBC 5 and CBS 2— and in Pittburgh where I once jumped out of an airplane for Channel 4 Action News. Back then, they let first-timers jump solo. Hanging onto the airplane wing crazy-way up in the sky, I found the hardest part was letting go.
The Lady With The Alligator Purse
In came the doctor. In came the nurse. But in the end, it was the silly Lady With The Alligator Purse who made the day. Her remedy? Spontaneous FUN. I started The Lady With The Alligator Purse to give friends a chance to come along on some of the cool adventures we cook up at our house. I love having the opportunity to show you simple ways to find fantastic. Whether across the country, in your best friend’s closet or right in your front yard – you never know where you might discover treasure. I hope you like the site. Thank you so much for tuning in! I'd LOVE to hear from you! Email me @ TheLadyWithTheAlligatorPurse@gmail.com
